I was driving down 110th Street the other day when I noticed an unusual truck up ahead…

Ha, no beating around the bush on this one! I half expected to see Wile E. Coyote driving as the Road Runner booked it up Lenox Ave.

According to Wikipedia, the “Explosives 1.1d” label on the rear means “secondary detonating explosive substance or black powder…without means of initiation and without a propelling charge, or article containing a primary explosive substance and containing two or more effective protective features.”

Can we all agree this truck is in desperate need of the word ACME on its side?

Probably for the Second Avenue Subway

Wouldn’t it be great if we could find labels like that for drivers? Mine would have to say “DRIVING AS FAST AS I CAN AFFORD.” I think I would want to be paid an obscene amount of money to drive that truck around. Cheers!

Could it be fireworks for July 4?

Definitely for the Second Ave subway. I’ve seen this truck there for weeks now, and the almost-nightly blasts have been pretty fun.

Looks like even the most jaded NYC drivers are not tailgating this guy! ACME would have looked good on this one!

    Or maybe “STUDENT DRIVER”

It’s somewhat amusing that the federal Department of Transportation requires the red color and prominent signage for explosives trucks, yet requires fewer warnings for propane tankers – which can be even more dangerous.

And more & more Coyotes are being seen in New York.
In alleys, on top of bars, etc.
    They’re **plotting** something….
